Worrying something might be wrong with your child can be an incredibly stressful situation for both you and your child. Your child might be having a hard time socializing with others, following directions, staying on task, controlling his/her emotions, or keeping up in school. You as a parent want your child to have a normal and happy life, but you are feeling concerned for their future.

Having the same problems come up over and over again with no answers as to why or solutions can begin to feel like a huge weight on your shoulders as a parent. You might even begin to resent your child for the effect that they have on you and your family and that feeling brings you an incredible amount of guilt.

Our counselors can help lessen some of the worry. We will work with your child, your family and sometimes even your child's school to assess your child's strengths and weaknesses in cognitive, academic, social and emotional functioning. Heights Family Therapy owner, Amy Rollo, M.A., LSSP, LPC-S has specialized in evaluation services for well over 15 years. Amy understands that the process is much more than determining a diagnosis. There is typically significant anxiety and fear regarding the potential diagnosis, and subsequently the process can be a difficult time for your family.
