Mireya Pava is an experienced licensed counselor who specializes in working with children, teens, and adults.

Life is a journey—no one should have to navigate it alone.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward, I’m here to help. As a bilingual therapist (English & Spanish), I provide a safe and supportive space where you can explore your emotions, rediscover your strengths, and take meaningful steps toward healing and growth.

I specialize in working with children, teens, and adults who are navigating life transitions, emotional distress, and personal challenges, including:

Anxiety & Depression
First-Generation Challenges
Autism Spectrum & ADHD
Behavioral Concerns
Grief & Loss
Trauma & PTSD (including childhood sexual abuse & domestic violence)
Self-Esteem & Body Image
Life Transitions & Single Parenting

Working with Children & Teens

When working with children and teens, I believe that collaboration with caregivers is key to fostering a supportive environment for healing. My approach is tailored to each child’s unique needs, using a blend of play therapy techniques, cognitive-behavioral strategies (CBT), and a strength-based mindset to build confidence, emotional regulation, and resilience.

Therapy for Adults

For adults, I offer compassionate, culturally sensitive therapy that is both insightful and empowering. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem struggles, or major life changes, I integrate CBT, mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and person-centered therapy to help you process challenges, regain clarity, and move forward with confidence.

Family Therapy

Families are ever-evolving, and sometimes, challenges arise that create tension or disconnect. I help families strengthen their relationships, improve communication, and navigate life’s transitions together. Whether you’re managing co-parenting challenges, parenting conflicts, blended family dynamics, or supporting a child or teen with emotional or behavioral concerns, I provide strategies to help your family thrive.

My Approach

I believe therapy should be an empowering experience—one that honors your unique background, culture, and lived experiences. My approach is rooted in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and person-centered care, ensuring that you feel heard, valued, and supported every step of the way. Using an integrative approach that includes CBT, trauma-informed techniques, and mindfulness-based practices, I tailor sessions to meet your specific needs and goals. Together, we’ll work toward creating meaningful change, healing past wounds, and fostering personal growth.

A Little About Me

I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. I have spent years providing therapy to children, adults and parents providing a safe place for support.

Outside of therapy, you’ll find me exploring the outdoors—hiking, biking, and camping as ways to recharge. I also love traveling, experimenting with new recipes, and spending quality time with loved ones.
