Maybe you feel overwhelmed with juggling it all: work, relationships, or your children and their needs, etc. Life is busy, and it can feel completely overwhelming with the endless list of tasks to be completed. There aren't many spaces specially designed for a person to slow down and just BE. In our society today, many people are simply too busy to process emotions and be attuned to themselves, making it more difficult to address what is causing discomfort or distress. The most healing aspect of therapy for many is simply to be seen and validated for what they are feeling. With that foundation, deeper healing and growth can occur!

My approach in therapy is trauma-informed, meaning that I believe that each person has experienced events or difficult emotions that changed their view of themselves and their world. Oftentimes, the memories and feelings are too upsetting to address in the moment and are suppressed so that a person can cope. However, what is suppressed will eventually need to be expressed, and can lead to many uncomfortable symptoms or maladaptive coping mechanisms. I implement Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in sessions to help clients reconnect to their bodies with healthy coping skills and to allow the brain to do its natural work of healing! I also love to incorporate creative and expressive outlets for those who may not know how to verbalize some of their feelings, using artistic mediums or writing to learn to connect to themselves in a deeper way. All in all, treatment is tailored to you.

In my approach with children, I implement a child-centered approach with synergetic techniques. In the same way that I am trauma-informed with adolescents and adults, I work with children to help them reconnect to their bodies and to self-regulate through difficult emotions and symptoms. Self-regulation is a tough skill for children to learn without the support of their families, communities, and/or caregivers, as they are dependent on adults to form their own template for how to deal with difficult emotions or events. I’m here to support you as you learn to better connect with your child.

In my free time, I love to paint or find a creative project to do. Art has always been one of my outlets, as well as enjoying the outdoors. I enjoy running/long walks outside in nature at a few of our parks in Houston, love going on trips with my husband whenever we are able to get away, and enjoy spending time with our community with board games, pickle-ball, and trying new foods!
