Julie Murillas, M.S.

Julie specializes in high achievers, burnout, family of origin issues, and relationships

Life is constantly evolving, and with each new season, we are challenged to adapt and grow. Some transitions are exciting, while others can feel overwhelming—especially for teens, women, high-achievers, and couples who feel stuck in unhealthy patterns. If you find yourself constantly striving but never feeling “good enough,” battling exhaustion from always pushing forward, or struggling with the emotional ups and downs that come with hormonal changes, you’re not alone.

I work with individuals and couples who are ready to take a deeper look at themselves—to understand their patterns, honor their needs, and begin the process of healing, self-acceptance, and growth. Therapy is not about "fixing" yourself—because you are not broken. Instead, it’s about peeling back the layers of expectations, self-doubt, and emotional overwhelm to uncover who you truly are underneath it all. My goal is to help you make sense of your inner world and equip you with tools that empower you to move forward with clarity and confidence.

Who I Work With

I specialize in working with:

  •  Teens navigating identity, self-esteem, and emotional ups and downs.

  •  Women facing hormonal shifts, anxiety, and the pressure to “do it all.”

  •  Overachievers & Perfectionists who feel stuck in burnout culture, struggling to slow down or set boundaries.

  • Couples looking to improve communication, break unhealthy cycles, and reconnect in a meaningful way.

  • Those feeling disconnected from themselves—whether due to stress, life transitions, or self-doubt.

As a first-generation immigrant, I also understand the complexities of growing up between cultures and the pressure to meet multiple expectations. Every individual’s story is unique, and I strive to honor yours with deep respect and empathy.

My Approach

I believe in a holistic approach to mental health - acknowledging the deep connection between mind and body. My background in yoga informs my work, and I often integrate mindfulness and body-based techniques to help clients reconnect with themselves in a meaningful way. Together, we will explore strategies that work for you, whether that means learning to regulate emotions, setting boundaries, improving relationship dynamics, healing family-of-origin wounds, or redefining success on your own terms.

For couples, I offer a safe, neutral space to explore recurring conflicts, improve communication skills, and break out of frustrating patterns that leave you feeling unheard or disconnected. Many couples get stuck in cycles of defensiveness, avoidance, or miscommunication. My role is to help you gain insight into these patterns and learn practical ways to build trust, deepen your connection, and truly listen to one another.

Therapy with me is a safe, judgment-free space where you can show up as you are—messy emotions, exhaustion, and all. And yes, we’ll even use a little humor along the way.

Beyond Therapy

While therapy is a big part of my life, it’s not the only thing that defines me. When I’m not in session, you’ll find me listening to music, podcasts, cooking, reading, traveling, walking, practicing yoga, or spending time with my loved ones. I believe in balance, in slowing down, and in finding joy in the small moments.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply exhausted from always being the strong one, I’m here to help. You don’t have to figure it all out alone.
