Julie Murillas, M.S., LPC
Julie specializes in high achievers, burnout, family of origin issues, and relationships
Life is constantly evolving, and with each new season, you're challenged to adapt and grow. Some transitions are exciting, while others can feel overwhelming, especially if you're a teen, a woman, a high-achiever, or someone with ADHD who feels stuck in unhealthy patterns. If you find yourself constantly striving but never feeling "good enough," battling exhaustion from always pushing forward, struggling with the emotional ups and downs that come with hormonal changes, or feeling overwhelmed by an ADHD brain that doesn't work the way the world expects it to, you're not alone.
I work with individuals who are ready to take a deeper look at themselves: to understand their patterns, honor their needs, and begin the process of healing, self-acceptance, and growth. Therapy is not about "fixing" yourself, because you are not broken. Instead, it's about peeling back the layers of expectations, self-doubt, and emotional overwhelm to uncover who you truly are underneath it all. My goal is to help you make sense of your inner world and equip you with tools that empower you to move forward with clarity and confidence.
IS THIS YOU?
You might be:
A woman facing hormonal shifts related to peri/menopause, anxiety, and the pressure to "do it all."
A teen navigating identity, self-esteem, and emotional ups and downs.
An overachiever or perfectionist who feels stuck in burnout culture, struggling to slow down or set boundaries.
Someone with ADHD navigating executive function struggles, emotional dysregulation, or a life that feels harder to manage than it "should" be.
Feeling disconnected from yourself, whether due to stress, life transitions, or self-doubt.
As a first-generation immigrant, I also understand the complexities of growing up between cultures and the pressure to meet multiple expectations. Your story is unique, and I strive to honor it with deep respect and empathy.
MY APPROACH
I believe in a holistic approach to mental health, acknowledging the deep connection between mind and body. My background in yoga informs my work, and I often integrate mindfulness and body-based techniques to help you reconnect with yourself in a meaningful way. Together, we'll explore strategies that work for you, whether that means learning to regulate emotions, setting boundaries, healing family-of-origin wounds, building systems that work with an ADHD brain instead of against it, or redefining success on your own terms.
Therapy with me is a safe, judgment-free space where you can show up as you are: messy emotions, exhaustion, and all. And yes, we'll even use a little humor along the way.
BEYOND THERAPY
While therapy is a big part of my life, it's not the only thing that defines me. When I'm not in session, you'll find me listening to music, podcasts, cooking, reading, traveling, walking, practicing yoga, or spending time with my loved ones. I believe in balance, in slowing down, and in finding joy in the small moments.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply exhausted from always being the strong one, I'm here to help. You don't have to figure it all out alone.
