Often people seek therapy because they are out of solutions and/or believe that they are unequipped to solve their own issues - I disagree! In using a solution-focused therapeutic approach to therapy, I strive to empower clients so that they can process and explore more effective solutions to their problems. I strive to help clients move from a problem-focused to a solution-focused orientation. While I focus on the present and future, I am also interested in learning about what clients have tried and the exceptions to their problems. The process of therapy is difficult and requires a level of comfort with vulnerability; I aim to foster a non-judgmental, accepting environment that will help clients feel comfortable sharing their deepest thoughts and self-reflections.

I enjoy working with both individual and relational sexual concerns. I am a Certified Sex Therapist through the Texas Sex Therapy Institute. An active sex life is incredibly important for most individuals, especially those in a relationship. I also know how difficult it can be to reach out for help, especially when sexual issues are involved. I aim to help couples and individuals enhance intimacy, increase sexual communication with a partner, address emotional difficulties related to sexual intimacy (such as past trauma or infidelities within a relationship), and address sexual dysfunctions that have arisen. In order to accomplish this, I use talk-based therapy which strives to help individuals and couples better understand and achieve the type of sex life they wish to have. My approach to working with couples is collaborative and compassionate. I have completed all three levels of Gottman Clinical Training and utilize empirically based research methods to help couples connect, build trust, handle conflict, and create lasting meaning and attachment in their lives.

I have extensive experience in Psychoeducational, AD/HD, Psychological, and Autism Spectrum Disorder Evaluations. My evaluation/assessments focus is to fully understand a person's strengths while identifying growth areas to strengthen through intervention. I believe through comprehensive evaluations, a person can receive the accommodations, interventions, and support they need.

When I am not in session, I am likely spending time with my partner, daughter, and our two pups, Atty and Slinky. I greatly enjoy soaking in the great outdoors! I am a live music fan and love to dig through an old vinyl record store. I also enjoy traveling (exploring and learning about a new culture), reading, listening to music, and caring for my flower beds/garden.
