Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Creating a Safe Space for Healing & Connection

As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I am passionate about fostering healthier family dynamics and empowering individuals to navigate the complexities of relationships and life stressors.

In my practice, I use warmth, compassion, and authenticity to create a nurturing and supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and valued. The challenges we face in life can often feel like heavy rocks we carry with us every day. While I may not be able to fully remove those burdens, my goal in therapy is to help hold those rocks with you — making the weight of them feel lighter and more manageable.

My Therapeutic Approach

My journey into the field of therapy began with a strong belief that “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” I believe that when families work together as a team and we treat the family system as a whole, we can create deeper healing and more meaningful change for both the family unit and each individual member.

I particularly enjoy incorporating:

  • Mindfulness techniques

  • Self-compassion practices

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills

These approaches help individuals and families:

  • Make value-driven decisions

  • Increase emotional awareness

  • Build resilience

  • Strengthen relationships

  • Develop healthy coping strategies

  • Effectively manage intense emotions

I tailor therapy to the unique needs of each client and family while fostering a collaborative and supportive therapeutic environment.

Child & Play Therapy

I deeply value the transformative power of play and recognize that play is often a child’s natural language. Through play, children are able to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and non-threatening way.

Using play therapy techniques, I help children process emotional experiences, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills. Through play-based interventions, children are empowered to find their voice and inner strength.

I also believe caregivers play an essential role in the healing process. By involving families in therapy, caregivers can learn to understand and communicate through the language of play, strengthening attachment, connection, and emotional understanding within the family system.

In therapy, I help children and families improve:

  • Communication

  • Emotional regulation

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Connection and attachment

  • Conflict resolution

I work with concerns including:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • ADHD

  • Trauma

  • Behavioral concerns

  • Divorce and family transitions

  • Communication challenges

Collaborative Family Care

With a background in school-based counseling and specialized training in family therapy and play therapy techniques, I bring a unique and integrative approach to helping individuals and families overcome challenges and build stronger connections.

I firmly believe in the importance of collaboration and teamwork throughout the therapeutic process. I work closely with caregivers and other professionals involved in the family’s care to ensure treatment is holistic, supportive, and effective.

By fostering a sense of partnership and shared goals, I empower families to actively participate in their healing journey and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

Supporting Growth & Resilience

In all that I do, my ultimate goal is to help clients cultivate resilience, foster connection, and thrive. Through the transformative power of therapy, I am dedicated to helping families build brighter, healthier, and more fulfilling futures.

Outside the Therapy Room

When I’m not in session, I enjoy reading new books, spending time in nature, and getting creative in the kitchen through cooking and baking. I also enjoy staying active through yoga, volleyball, swimming, and long walks with my husband and my dachshund, “Taquito”
