Welcome to another edition of our Highlighted Sex Position of the Month, where I'm thrilled to introduce you to our Sex Position of the Month – the Flatiron. This position brings a unique blend of intimacy and excitement to your repertoire, creating an opportunity for exploration and connection.
The Flatiron Position, also known as the Prone Bone or Spread Eagle, offers a different perspective on intimacy, allowing for deep penetration and enhanced physical connection. Here's a closer look at the key aspects to consider when exploring the Flatiron Position:
Communication is Essential: Before diving into this position, engage in open and honest communication with your partner. Discuss desires, boundaries, and any concerns to ensure both parties are comfortable and enthusiastic about trying the Flatiron.
Positioning to Create a Comfortable Space: The Flatiron Position involves the receiving partner lying face down with their hips slightly elevated. To enhance comfort, use pillows or cushions under the hips and chest. The penetrating partner kneels or stands behind, penetrating from the rear (standing is best applicable for this position if the receiving partner is lying face down on an elevated surface, like a bed). Creating a comfortable space is crucial for relaxation and enjoyment. Adjust the angle and depth based on comfort and preference.
Mindful Touch: The Flatiron Position allows for ample skin-to-skin contact. Practice mindful touch by exploring your partner's body with intention and sensitivity. Pay attention to their responses, fostering a deeper connection through tactile awareness.
Variations for Pleasure: Just like any sexual position, the Flatiron allows for variations to cater to individual preferences. Experiment with different angles, speeds, and depths to discover what brings pleasure to both partners. Remember, the journey is about exploration and shared enjoyment.
Emphasize Emotional Connection: Intimacy goes beyond the physical act. The Flatiron Position provides an opportunity to strengthen emotional bonds between partners. Maintain eye contact, express affection, and stay attuned to each other's needs to deepen the connection.
Consent and Comfort: Always prioritize consent and comfort during intimate moments. Regularly check in with your partner to ensure they are feeling secure and relaxed. The Flatiron Position is about mutual pleasure, and creating a safe space is fundamental to the experience.
As usual, it is recommended that if you or your partner are not feeling well, you might consider delaying sexual engagement until both of you are feeling up to par! And, as a continued healthy sex practice, please wash your hands before and after a sexual experience. If it helps you both to feel more comfortable, and in the mood, start your shared sexual experience by taking a shower together. In addition to keeping healthy sex practices in mind, I also recommend beginning any sexual experience by doing some light stretching together to help avoid injuries and/or muscle cramps that might arise during a sexual experience, as this is still the most common sexual injury.
As with any new sexual position, the key lies in open communication, consent, and a shared willingness to explore together. The Flatiron Position offers a thrilling and intimate experience, encouraging couples to connect on a deeper level. Stay tuned for our next exploration into the diverse world of intimate connections. Until then, embrace the art of the Flatiron and enjoy the journey of discovery with your partner!
